Sessions and prices

Every family starts with a free 20-minute call. Nothing is bought before that conversation.

How it works, start to finish

1. Request a free 20-minute parent call.
2. On the call we learn about your student and tell you honestly whether we can help.
3. If it is a fit, we agree on a format and a coach, and you buy a set of four sessions.
4. You pick session times that work for your family.
5. Sessions run online, with a parent at home.

The three formats

One on one

Your student works alone with their coach and gets the most personal attention on their own application.

Two on one

Two students with one coach. Your student gets a close working relationship with their coach, and gets to help their partner think through their application as well. Working out what is wrong with someone else’s draft is one of the fastest ways to see what is wrong with your own. Best for a student who does not want to share with a whole group but works well with a partner.

Small group of five

Five students with one coach, working through the process together, which some students find easier than being the only one in the room. Students can present their application to the group and get feedback from other people going through exactly the same thing. Sharing your work is always optional and nobody is ever asked to read anything out. Best for a student who likes to work things out with other people.

Prices

Magnet application coaching, sold as a set of four sessions

That works out to $40, $35 and $25 an hour.

One set is four sessions. Most families do one a week, so a set lasts about a month. Nothing renews automatically. When a set is finished you decide whether to buy another one.

How sessions are run

These rules do not change, and they apply to every session:

• All sessions are online.
• Sessions happen at home with a parent or guardian in the house.
• You receive every meeting link and you are welcome to sit in on any session.
• Sessions run only on our business account, never on a personal Zoom, FaceTime, Discord or Snapchat.
• All scheduling and messages go through our business email and our booking page. We do not text students and we do not message students on social media.

We are academic coaches, not counselors or therapists. If something comes up in a session that a parent should know about, we will tell you.

Paying

Payment is arranged during your free consultation. We will confirm in writing what you are buying, what it costs, and when the sessions are, before anything is paid.
